Happy Tails Dog Park gives dogs the opportunity to run free in a secure, fenced enclosure. The dog park has double-gated entries for safety and separate enclosures for large and small dogs. Pet watering stations are supplied with potable (safe to drink) water. Each station has a “community” pet bowl and a jug filler for owners to fill “private” bowls. Please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs. Permanent benches and table have been omitted from the dog park by design.

This 10 acre fenced dog park is open daily and it features separate areas for large dogs and small dogs.

The park is located to the east of the softball complex in the 600+ acre Raccoon River Park. A permit is required for dogs to play in this dog park.

I saw a funny video that I want to share with you. It was a finalist for Doritos’ Crash the Super Bowl contest, with the lucky winner being shown during the Super Bowl on February 5, 2012. People have been able to vote at CrashTheSuperBowl.com and Facebook.com/DoritosUSA. In addition, the producers of this commercial have a website at DoritosDogPark.com and a corresponding Twitter account.

On Super Bowl Sunday, we will see if the Doritos Dog Park commercial made it to the SuperBowl! The video is below for your enjoyment.

Sandy Creek Park

Sandy Creek Park boasts a total of four (4) two- to three-acre dog parks, three of which are reservation only with a $1 per hour / dog fee. Upon reservation, each dog owner is given a key to their private park when they arrive at the front gatehouse. The fourth park is free with no reservation requirement or key needed. Each dog park has mutt mitts, water spigot and water bowl located inside the fence line.

You may make reservations up to 48 hours in advance by calling ahead or stopping by the gatehouse. NOTE: Reservations for the private parks are made only on the top of the hour (i.e. 3:00 PM, 10:00 AM).

The dog parks at Sandy Creek Park are open Tuesday-Sunday during normal operating hours. Please note that Sandy Creek Park is closed on Monday!
