Dog Walkers: Visit a Local Dog Park
Dog walking allows you to enjoy walking outside and indulge in a love of dogs, even when you may not be able to keep a dog of your own. Walking dogs offers income and fresh air. But walking dogs up and down busy streets can be hazardous and quickly become monotonous to both the dog walker and the energetic dogs, all straining at their leashes to run and play. It takes a firm hand to keep control of several dogs at once. Taking the dogs to a dog park offers the dog walker a number of benefits.
A dog park is a park created for dogs and their owners. These parks are surrounded by high fences to keep the canine visitors safely inside. There is a dog waste disposal system and, usually, benches for the human visitors. For the dog walker, whose arm grows weary of hanging on to several leashes simultaneously, the dog park offers relief. The dog parks allow dogs to run unimpeded by leashes. The dogs get a chance to run and play without a leash holding them back.
The dog park gives the dog walker time to watch the animal charges without having to run after them. The dog walker gets a break while the dogs run back and forth and around the park created just for them. The dog walker can join the dogs in play since the leashes are off and can take time to give each dog individual attention.
Unlike a hot, congested city street, a dog park allows the dogs to run on soft, cool grass. The dog walker doesn’t have to worry about burned foot pads. The dog park includes shade and water so the dogs can keep cool and stay hydrated. There are also usually shade for the human caretakers.
Dogs that are unable to interact with other dogs can show anti-social tendencies. Trips to the dog park provide the four-legged creatures a chance to interact with other dogs. They learn to get along and play with other dogs. Of course, the dog walker needs to make sure any new interactions are accomplished safely. Dogs that learn to socialize with other dogs are healthier psychologically.
Dog parks give dogs the opportunity for safe exercise without the dog walker required to run alongside. Dog parks are a positive addition to the dog walker’s routine for the health and well being of the four-legged charges.
